Mayank carried on this form into the Vijay Hazare Trophy and was the highest run-getter with 723 runs at a whopping average of 90.23. He was the chief architect in Karnataka’s title-winning run as they beat Saurashtra in the finals to lift their third Vijay Hazare Trophy. In doing so, Mayank Agarwal broke the record for the most runs in an Indian Domestic Season across all formats.

  • Successful Test Debut

Mayank’s hard work at the domestic and India A level, finally resulted in a call up to the Indian Test team during the 2018-19 Border-Gavaskar series in Australia. He opened the batting for India in the boxing day Test match and scored a gritty 76, which was the highest score by an Indian batsman on debut in Australia, and the second-highest score by an Indian opener on debut in an overseas Test. He followed that up with another fine knock of 42 in the second innings at Melbourne and an aggressive 77 in the Sydney Test match.
