Two and a Half Days in Hyderabad

The Airtel Hyderabad Marathon 2018 is approaching, and is now just two weekends away. Along with all you marathoners, Fast&Up is also preparing for the Hyderabad Marathon, where we will be the Official Electrolytes Partners. So see you on 25th and 26th August, 2018!

Just like Fast&Up has got you covered when it comes to sports nutrition, we have also got you covered on your weekend in Hyderabad. Presenting to you, a list of places you can visit when you're in 'The City of Nizams' this August. Isn't Fast&Up just the best?

The Charminar, or Four Minarets    is one of the most famous landmarks of this city, representing Indo-Islamic architecture. Constructed in 1591, it is a monument as well as a mosque. As seen in the picture, on each of the four corners of the monument, you will find minarets which are 56 meters high with beautiful double balconies. The open air mosque is situated on the second floor.

The archways open out into the Lad Market which is famous for jewellery, especially bangles, garments and Pathar Gatti, famous for its pearls. Other points of attraction around Charminar are Makkah Masjid, Char Khaman, the four arches and Gulzar Houz, a fountain located in the middle of these arches.

Golkonda Fort

Located about 11kms from Hyderabad, Golkonda is one of the most imposing forts of India. The boundary wall of Golkonda Fort towers to a height of about 120 meters and covers about 10 km. The main features of the Fort are its royal palaces, efficient water supply system, and whispering walls. Fateh Rahben gun, a cannon used by Aurangzeb to demolish the blockades of Golkonda Fort, is an important exhibit of this fort.

Out of the 8 gates or Darwazas, Fateh Darwaza which is also the entry point to the fort is famous for its acoustic effects, which was an effective security measure in those days. The Fort holds a Light and Sound Show in which the story of Golkonda Fort is narrated.

Ramoji Film City

Ramoji Film City, spread over 2,000 acres on the outskirts of Hyderabad is a shooting location, as well as a famous tourist attraction. Over 15 lakh visitors come to Ramoji Film City every year, to see the place where more than 2,500 titles have been shot since it opened. Remember the airport scene in Ra One or the song Ohh, La, La from The Dirty Picture? You will these locations and many more at Ramoji.

There are options for dining, shopping and entertainment available. You can go for movie studio tours, live shows and an adventure park, to name a few. This is an experience move buffs will enjoy thoroughly.

Hussain Sagar Lake

Hussain Sagar Lake is situated in the heart of the city of Hyderabad, connecting Secunderabad and Hyderabad. Hussain Sagar Lake is the largest artificial lake in Asia. It has become a major recreational spot, famous for water sports. Motor boat, speed boat facilities are provided at the lake for those of you who have always to try it.

Dinner and private parties can be arranged on the 48-seater launch which is another attraction at this place. A large monolithic statue of Lord Buddha is present in the middle of the lake. Made of white granite, it stands on the 'Rock of Gibraltar'. The statue is about 16 meters high. Along the periphery of Hussain Sagar Lake, other famous city attractions including Lumbini Park and Birla Mandir are present.

Apart from these destinations, Hyderabad has many other places worth visiting. The city is a perfect combination of old-world charm synchronized with new malls and office complexes.
